Left at 6.30am in quite choppy sea but decided to fish around Unicorn wreck again. By 9am the sea had flattened off. Ollie and Alice from England were hoping to catch a marlin. After an hour of catching queenfish the topwater bait was taken by a black marlin. Ollie did a great job bringing the fish boatside in 45 minutes after 2 long runs and lots of jumps. Unfortunately the fish had become tailwrapped after the second run and died so was a keeper. Nothing was wasted. Alice did very well jigging for queenfish catching at least 20 of them using bait flies. Nice job guys!

Weather set to change tomorrow for the worse. Very happy to end the season with a cracking days game fishing like today.

Last few days have seen lovely weather and excellent fishing. Queenfish and trevally biting well on the bottom using lures and livebait. Marlin and sailfish taking livebaits fished near the surface, and also got spooled by a marlin that took a livebait on the bottom! Minutes later another one took the surface livebait an managed to get it to the boat. We have been fishing at Unicorn wreck and Na Baan pinnacle. Sailfish have been much bigger than the black marlin this week.

Another boat reported king mackerel biting well at South West pinnacle.

Excellent weather continues. Zero wind and glassy seas have made fishing a real pleasure this week. Offshore has been fairly quiet although I hear that a huge marlin was lost at Chumpon pinnacle after a 3 hour fight on the 10th. Reports suggest that the fish was between 3 and 4 meters long, no idea about possible weight. Water remains quite discoloured from all the rain last week, but decent numbers of billfish are seen daily at Maehaad/Sairee bay.

We landed a big sailfish at Na Baan pinnacle yesterday mid morning. Another boat parked very close had a simultaneous hookup but their line snapped early in the fight. This was the first time we tried catching sailfish using braid line and circle hooks. The hook got caught in the fish's gill(so much for cirle hooks catching the corner of a fish's mouth). Nice sensitivity with the braid. Even when the fish was 400 meters away could still feel his movements.  Also excellent for checking the livebait. Just touching the line will confirm if it is live or dead. Much easier than winding in to check as with mono.

Weather forecast looks great until 18th, and I can accept any booking from 13th until 18th. 5,000baht/day and most likely targetting sailfish inshore.

Managed to get out today after a week of terrible weather. Bait were easy to come by and also on the bait jigs trevally and queenfish were biting., 5 kilo cobia on cut bait. All ready for tomorrows booking. No wind and the sea is glassy.

Another boat dropped a sailfish at Na Baan pinnacle around midday After all the rain the bay,and even out as far as 9 miles was littered with energy drink bottles.
